IUI + Fertility
Planning:
There are more ways than one to create a human! Sometimes it all starts with a planning session. We meet and so a full health history, discuss how you’ve been tracking and what to add to that, supplements (if any), how to read your body’s fertile signs and when we do the IUI/ICI. We go over any worries you may have and any logistical questions you have been pondering. I walk you though what a cycle looks like and what to expect and I will be there for you every step of the way from planning to pregnancy test (and beyond if you’d like). Let’s meet and can discuss sperm options and tracking education in this 90 min visit!
Placement:
We can do the placement at your place or ours. Either way it’s in the comfort of a bed, surrounded by your loved one/partner/support person. Placement will always be done on a soft surface like your bed or a soft couch and never on an uncomfortable exam table. We go nice and slow, with as gentle placement as possible. Every step of the process is done with informed consent and decision making, with active participation from you. We also love partner participation (when applicable). Have what ever lighting, smells, music, etc you’d like for your space during your placement time. We want this moment to be as special as possible for you.
Follow up:
If you would like follow up lab work, you come back to our office in the following weeks to have that checked, we also do follow up cycles should the intital cycle not result in a positive pregnancy. If you would like to continue care with us following a positive pregnancy, we transfer you to a Midwifery care client and follow you through pregnancy and postpartum. This can look however you would like it to look.

Planning Visit
Included
These planning visits (for IUI/ICI clients), they include a full health history intake, planning, and education sessions. When folks come to me for planning their IUI/ICI/Fertility Tracking, they come to me with various education levels on how to track their cycles. These visits help to streamline everything to give you the best chance at the most optimal. They also help me to learn about you and your overall health to give you recommendations for your specific body while trying to conceive.
These planning meeting(s) are important to interpret all those body signs that let us know when the exact right time to make a baby is. If labs are needed/desired, we determine this during our meeting(s) and can draw in office or schedule them with the lab.
Insemination
This is for placement of sample. Frozen sample is already prepped from the cryobank and ready for placement. At home or in office.
Travel Time
TBD
In the event that you are desiring an in home placement, and you are more than 45 miles from my office, a travel fee may be assessed.
Each individual’s chance of getting pregnant varies. We will do a consult, go over individual health history, supplements, medications, risk factors, experience with cycle/ovulation tracking, etc.
Age factors:
Under 35 ~ 13% per cycle.
35-37 ~10% per cycle.
38-40 ~ 9% per cycle.
40+ ~ 3-9% per cycle.
This will vary widely from person to person, but this is the current broad statistical data for chances of conceiving by age range in uncomplicated folks. Studies have shown that on average, queer conception is potentially slightly higher in success rate, mainly because across the data, IUI are for conception only and not due to potential underlying conditions that make seeking IUI for fertility related reasons.
These statistics also non-medicated cycles. In medicated cycles (Clomid or Letrozole), the percentage does increase in chances of pregnancy per cycle. The statistics of a pregnancy go up with consecutive cycles, but do tend to plateau at about 6 well executed tries. If we get to 6 and still no pregnancy, we can discuss next steps.
