Prenatal Care

In the Midwifery Model of care, we have hour long prenatal visits where we check in with how you as a person are doing as well as go over any questions, fears or hopes you have for your pregnancy, birth + postpartum journey. As Midwives, we are experts at low risk pregnancy and births as well as holistic, whole body wellness. You are not just a number in our care, and we walk along side each individual in their preferences and choices. We practice true informed consent in every aspect of your care from lab work, to ultrasounds, to touching your body during things like blood pressure and fetal palpation. We work together to go over all options, risks and benefits of each option, reviewing research and how it might apply to you and your families needs and having true informed decision making every step of the way.

Prenatal offerings:

  • All labs are drawn in house, including OB Panel at the start of care, Genetic Screens if desired, Glucose labs, etc.

  • All vitals; blood pressure, fundal height, fetal positioning, fetal heart tones, etc. at each visit.

  • Ordering of Ultrasound as desired and/or indicated.

  • Comprehensive prenatal care on a standard schedule:

  • Conception - 28 weeks - Every 4 weeks

  • 28 weeks - 36 weeks - Every 2 weeks

  • 36 Weeks - Birth - Every week w/ about your 36 week being a home visit.

Should complications come up, we have great relationships with referring providers throughout the cities.

Intrapartum Care

Labor + Home Delivery:

My care monitors the safety of you and baby in the comfort of your own home. I anticipate joining you in your labor time around active labor and stay through a few hours postpartum when you and baby are stable and well.

During your labor, we monitor your vitals, baby’s heart tones to ensure they are also doing well with during their labor journey, and ensuring the immediate postpartum transition goes well and stay for a few hours postpartum to ensure you and baby are stable, suturing as needed and a full head to toe newborn exam.

One of the big benefits to Midwifery care at home is that you are free to listen to your body, move freely, give birth in any position that feels comfortable and works, have continuity of care with a provider that knows your goals and desired for your birth and more.

What are some aspects of laboring at home with a Midwife?
